Director Biography – Richard Wiebe
Richard Wiebe lives in Saint Paul, MN where he teaches at Hamline University and the Minnesota Prison Writing Workshop. His award-winning work has screened widely at international venues including IFF Rotterdam, Media City Film Festival (Windsor/Detroit), L’Alternativa Film Festival (Barcelona), FIDMarseille, IndieLisboa, Milwaukee Underground Film Festival, Festival du nouveau cinéma (Montreal), Athens International Film Festival, UnionDocs Center for Documentary Art (Brooklyn), Festival Les Inattendus (Lyon), Sheffield Fringe Documentary Film Festival, 25 FPS (Zagreb), Chicago Underground Film Festival, Ann Arbor Film Festival, Antimatter (Victoria), Maryland Film Festival and several others.
Richard has curated film and video programs for the Minneapolis/St. Paul International Film Festival (MSPIFF), Cellular Cinema, and the Walker Art Center. He was the Executive Director of the 10th anniversary Iowa City Documentary Film Festival (IC DOCS) and co-founder of the Works-in-Progress Festival (WiP).
